After enjoying a happy childhood in the sunny kingdom of Fife in Scotland I moved to Edinburgh and obtained a masters degree in French and German followed by a post-grad diploma in European Marketing and Languages. I dabbled in photography in my spare time, inhaling chemical fumes and printing black and white photographs in a small hallway closet, artfully converted into a dark room.
In 1991 I moved to Montreal, Canada and studied Commercial Photography at Dawson Institute of Photography. On graduating I worked for 8 years as Development Manager of the Alexander von Humboldt German International school in Baie d'Urfé, Quebec. My evenings were spent developing color photographs, this time in a basement closet.
In 2005 I moved to Keller, Texas. I switched to digital (no more chemicals) and began freelancing with a variety of magazine, book and calendar publishers. While I enjoy all types of photography, I particularly love creating unique images of children and also of pets with 'their people'. I also enjoy food photography which offers me a rare opportunity to be in control of my subject.
